About the book

All Good Mornings is an ebook and workbook combo for parents who want to put an end to stressful and chaotic mornings and would rather find a way to support their children’s emotional needs while still getting to school on time.

On the surface, it’s about understanding the organizational systems that make for an efficient morning routine, so that you can design systems that fit your family’s unique situation.  But at a deeper level, it’s about recognizing and meeting the emotional needs of each family member in the morning.

In this book, you’ll discover…

toasthow addressing the emotional needs of our children helps them with the logistical tasks of the morning routine, and how creating solid, seamless logistical systems helps ease (some of!) the emotional turmoil.

You’ll learn how to make it easy for your children to move through the steps of the morning routine, ensuring that they have everything they need for their school day, gaining confidence and a sense of their own competence that will serve them throughout the day.

Best of all, the skills and habits that they learn now will stay with them for years to come when you’re not around to make sure they have their lunchbox and homework!

When you finish reading the book you will understand:

  • Why mornings are so hard (and why it’s not your fault!)
  • Big picture principles and concepts that underlie the most effective organizing strategies
  • Specific strategies and tools that you can begin to implement immediately

 What Parents Are Saying

“Thank you very much Liz!

I thought all day long about what we talked about and by the end of the day, I had this overwhelming feeling of calmness. I feel like I finally have a plan that makes sense. I do not feel the urge to go in a completely change everything in one day, but slowly, methodically, and with collaboration from J and D. This is a first! You were right about so many things and it finally all made sense. Thanks for asking questions, that was more helpful than you know.

J told me that he finds himself lost in the mornings and he does not know what he is supposed to be doing. I see now how that is very frustrating for us both and is causing a lot of the issues we are facing each morning. I told him that if we can work together to have our checklists in one place, this will help. He was happy about that.

I woke up this morning feeling very calm and excited about where we are headed.

I can’t thank you enough for your wisdom. I will keep you posted about what we tackle next.

“This book and workbook are lovely.

They are filling a niche that has not been addressed in any ‘get your family organized’ type stuff I have read so far – getting at the underlying needs of everyone involved and showing that everyone needs respect.

The transitions and connections stuff is really satisfying, like a drink of water when you’re thirsty. I especially liked how you discussed the tension between meeting your child’s needs and meeting the needs of the outside world. That tension kills me and not just in the mornings – I have a similar issue with trying to balance the best thing for right now vs the best thing for the long term.

Too many books of this sort are written by people who are naturally inclined to the sort of behaviour you need in order to be successful in the morning and so they don’t describe the foundational emotional work that needs to go into the plan, perhaps because they have never needed it. You get into that level of work without bogging people down in it.

With love and gratitude for your work,
Christine Hennebury, (mom to 2 boys) Newfoundland, Canada
