@De- Glad to hear the year is starting out well for you guys. Lemme know how the poster board thing works out for you. (You can even send in photos!) I'm all for anything that makes the morning routine not so crazy!

Love the idea! I am going to try that here. Like you, we have different items each day of the week that Jake is responsible for bringing and if there is a list of all the possibilities for the week, it will be easy peasy to see them all in one place. Luckily, this year we are not committed to a lot of after school activities. But, it will change I am sure. I have also noticed that we are more excited about school and the fact that it starts later this year, that makes the morning routine a little smoother.

@JoVE- I've heard that there's something about the meteor showers in August that helps us shift from the 'being' mode of the summer to the 'doing' mode that seems to be such a hallmark of fall. I found that very interesting. Maybe that's why the energy of 'starting' is so present this time of year. But given that so much other stuff is starting now, it makes perfect sense to stagger things a bit!

You're allowed to send peanut butter to school?!!! Wow, that would have made life so much easier around here when F. went to school.

I find it interesting that even though we don't do school anymore, there is still a lot of "starting" or "organizing" pressure at this time of year. But I'm too busy for us to start full on school stuff at the same time as everyone else. So I'm trying to ignore it.
