@Suzanne- You're so sweet. One of the things that's so hard about overwhelm is the feeling of isolation. I'm so glad that a little feeling of connection comes across! That makes me happy. :)

And let me give you some public props for getting this thing up on the blog in the first place!

I was banging my head against the computer trying to figure out how to get a pdf uploaded and inserted. God bless Suzanne- in 2 minutes she had me sorted out without making me feel like an idiot! Need any wordpress help- she's your gal!

Liz...

Let me just say, "I love you forever!" This Overwhelmed Mom's Rescue Kit...rescued me!

The hardest part was making myself sit down with it and DO it! But once I got started, it got easier.

And on page 3 where you say, "I'll wait right here for you - no matter how long it takes." Well...I can't begin to describe how comforted I was by those simple words. Seriously.

I mean - yeah, I know you were going to wait because hello - "you" were the words on the page...duh...but still...the conversational, personal voice that you use when you write is just like you're talking to me (one of the reasons I love your writing so much) and...ok...you get the idea. I'll stop gushing now. :)

JoVE- I totally get it! As will everyone else who has family they love, but don't always *like*. And yes- the expectations are often what do us in!

that didn't come out quite right. But with family, there are so many expectations of how it should be that it is hard to just be.

How did you know what I said on December 1? :-)

And many years ago I reduced the overwhelm considerably by making it a policy NOT to have parents or inlaws here on Christmas day. No obligation guests. We spend Xmas with people we like who like us.
